I want to keep it quick since I’m sure you’ve only got a handful of minutes to spare today while preparing for the festivities. Honestly, I struggled with what to say because I do not want to come off as self-absorbed when expressing what I am thankful for. However, I could not ignore the urge to reflect on all that has brought me gratitude this year. And what better time to share it than on Thanksgiving?

So, here's what made the list in 2018:

  1. Starting my own business. I am so proud of myself for diving into entrepreneurship. Although I worked longer than normal hours, stretched myself thin, and I'm still in the red, it was a successful first year. There were so many lessons learned.

  2. Biting off more than I could chew. Plainly stated, I said “yes” too many times. As a result, I was forced to take a step back and evaluate what was not working and what changes were needed. Stay tuned in the upcoming months for more!

  3. Opportunities to collaborate. I am often asked about the products that I use and recommend. It has been such an honor to collaborate with companies that create functional and reliable products, including High Home Fashion, ZGallerie, and more.

  4. Stepping out my comfort zone. As a shy introvert, being and object of attention is very difficult for me. This year I had the chance to work with including Boss Women and Conversations With Kee. Even with all of that practice I’m still too nervous to do an Instagram Live, but I’ll take the leap next year!

  5. Meeting you in-person. I partipated a number of events this year including the Blueprint Summit & Expo with Cosign Magazine and sponsoring the floral crown station at a Boss Women Brunch. It was incredible to experience the live interaction and answer your design questions in person. When I’m not at a client site, I’m usually behind my desk at my home office. So getting the chance to chat at events is always a treat for me! If I haven’t had the chance to meet you yet, stay tuned for my next appearance (pst.. Vision Party in the new year).

  6. Working with my clients. Being able to help clients showcase their personal style or vision is rewarding. Not only were they excited about their space, but together we chose the products, which gave them a sense of ownership and pride for what was created.

What are you greatful for this year?

Happy Thanksgiving!
